The Bartlett Promise is a significant initiative to enhance diversity in the built environment sector. This initiative is crucial in addressing the current diversity gap in this field. The scholarship program provides comprehensive support, covering tuition, living, and study expenses. It also includes professional guidance and career advice throughout the scholars’ programs.

Now in its second year, the scheme has expanded its support to include 21 UK undergraduates, 13 Master’s, and 4 PhD students, with generous contributions from Jestico + Whiles, Derwent London, and the Aziz Foundation.

Expanding its scope, The Bartlett has introduced a unique scholarship for UK students, which is planned to grow annually. The program now extends internationally, offering four scholarships to students from Sub-Saharan Africa, starting from February 15, 2023.

Eligible candidates are nationals from 48 Sub-Saharan African countries who have received an offer for a Master’s program at any of The Bartlett’s nine schools and demonstrate financial need.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship provides full overseas tuition fees and an annual allowance of £16,008 to support living and study expenses for the standard program duration at UCL. Additional benefits include a round-trip flight to the UK, UK Study Visa expenses, English language assessment, health test costs, and the NHS Immigration Health Supplement charge. Furthermore, all Promise scholars receive ongoing academic and career support.
